Sonographer – Rochester Regional Health
STATUS: Full-time
LOCATION: Newark-Wayne Community Hospital
DEPARTMENT: Radiology
WORK SCHEDULE: Evening/Night; 4 pm – 12 am
ON CALL: One overnight per week, plus one weekend a month.
SIGN‑ON BONUS: Up to $25,000
SUMMARY: As a Sonographer, you play an important part in high‑quality imaging exams needed to deliver quality care to our patients. The Rochester Regional Health Imaging and Radiology team is led by subspecialty and board‑certified radiologists, nurses, and technicians providing the highest quality diagnostic and treatment imaging services to the Western, Central and Finger Lakes New York communities. Our teams pride themselves on providing the most advanced imaging and radiology services that guide how treatment plans and care decisions are made throughout our region.

- Perform abdominal, vascular, OB/GYN, and/or transcranial Doppler ultrasound scans; produce ultrasound images and obtain all required measurements; assist attending physicians with invasive procedures under sonographic guidance.
- Apply critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
- Document performance of scans in patient charts and complete preliminary reporting; phone preliminary reports to doctors’ offices or nursing floors at the radiologist’s request.
- Room preparation: clean, stock, and prepare the room daily.
- A Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Certificate or a Bachelor’s Degree in Ultrasound.
- Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) license.
Required:
Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Certificate or Bachelor’s Degree in Ultrasound.
Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) – American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS).
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSMedium Work:
Exerting 20–50 lb of force occasionally, 10–25 lb frequently, and up to 10 lb constantly to move objects; requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.
$35.00 – $47.00 per hour.
