Nazareth University announces the opportunity to join a collegial team of faculty who value contributions to the success of students and the department. The University and the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders invite applications for a full-time, 10.5-month Clinical Assistant Professor position beginning August 2026. This faculty member will serve as the Clinic Manager for the Neurogenic Cognition and Communication Clinic (NC3), which provides speech, language, and cognitive services for adults with a wide range of neurological conditions.
Clients in the NC3 participate in meaningful, functional activities designed to help them reach their educational, vocational, and recreational potential; services are provided by graduate students in Nazareth’s speech-language pathology program under the direct supervision of fully licensed and credentialed clinical educators.
- Oversee all aspects of clinic operations, including supervision and mentoring of clinical educators, coordination of client scheduling, and collaboration with interprofessional clinics and partners.
- Design and deliver innovative, evidence-based programs; maintain high-quality client care; and contribute to department-wide clinical operations and initiatives.
- Provide clinical education (supervision) and teaching in accordance with ASHA standards; supervise therapy and diagnostic services.
- Participate in department meetings and contribute to departmental service activities; assist with development and implementation of academic and clinical programs.
- Engage in service to the University and professional community through committees, professional development, outreach, and advocacy.
- Work with Nazareth CSD Department and clinics, including NYS Teacher of Students with Disabilities (TSSLD) and Bilingual Education extensions where applicable.
- Master’s degree from an accredited CSD/SLP program.
- Current ASHA CCC-SLP certification; at least 2 hours of professional development in clinical instruction/supervision per ASHA guidelines.
- Licensed or eligible for licensure as an SLP in New York State.
- Five years of clinical experience providing SLP services to adults with neurogenic communication disorders in medical or rehabilitation settings.
- Two years clinical education/supervision experience.
- Experience working as part of an interprofessional team.
- Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Leadership and/or mentorship experience in clinical or school settings.
- Clinical education and/or academic teaching experience.
- Minimum of five years of clinical experience.
