Position Overview

We are seeking a highly organized and personable Patient Services Representative to join our bustling specialized ophthalmology practice. As the first point of contact for our patients, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional customer service, managing appointments, and ensuring the smooth flow of daily operations. Responsibilities
  • Greet patients warmly and create a welcoming atmosphere in the clinic.
  • Schedule appointments, surgeries, and follow-up visits while optimizing the physician's schedule for efficiency.
  • Manage a high volume of incoming calls, addressing patient inquiries, scheduling requests, and concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Verify patient information, insurance coverage, and ensure accurate data entry into the electronic health records system.
  • Collect and process patient demographic and insurance information during check-in, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Explain and assist patients in completing necessary forms and consent documents.
  • Coordinate and communicate effectively with medical staff, referring physicians, and internal departments.
  • Assist patients in understanding their insurance coverage, co-pays, and out-of-pocket expenses.
  • Handle patient inquiries about billing, account balances with sensitivity and discretion.
  • Collaborate with clinical staff to maintain an organized and efficient patient flow.
  • Manage and update patient records, ensuring all necessary documentation is complete and accurate.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of patient information in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Address patient concerns and complaints in a professional and empathetic manner, escalating issues as needed.
  • Participate in training programs and stay updated on practice policies, procedures, and industry regulations.
  • Contribute to the maintenance of a clean and organized reception area.
  • Assist in administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and supply inventory management.
