Job Description

Highland Hospital is seeking an experienced Risk Leader Specialist to work part time (24 hours a week).

The Risk Leader Specialist is responsible for oversight of safety initiatives and achievement of related outcomes throughout the organization. Collaborates with clinical and administrative leadership to create and implement multi‑faceted projects designed to improve the safety of patients receiving care at Highland Hospital. Promotes a just, non‑punitive culture throughout the organization.

Salary Range

$37.50 - $51.26 an hour

The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job’s compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.

Job Requirements
  • Education:

    Fulfills the educational requirements for license or Graduate degree Healthcare Administration.
  • Experience:

    Minimum 3 years of clinical or hospital experience. Experience in risk management, patient relations, or quality improvement strongly preferred.
  • License/Certification

    Required:

    Current NYS RN/PA license or a degree in Healthcare Administration. Crisis intervention training certification within 6 months of hire required.
  • Skills:

    Quality improvement and/or patient safety background with strong project management skills and excellent communication skills. A familiarity with the clinical and functional operations of the emergency department. Strong analytical skills for risk assessment and trend analysis. Experience with grievance management systems and professional practice evaluation processes. Demonstrated ability to manage sensitive and confidential information.
