Payroll Specialist

Description We are looking for an experienced Payroll Specialist to join our team on a contract basis in Rochester, New York. This role involves managing payroll operations for a large workforce, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in all payroll processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in full-cycle payroll and familiarity with multi-state payroll practices.

Responsibilities:

- Process bi-weekly payroll for approximately 900 employees using ADP Workforce Now.

- Maintain and update employee payroll records, including pay rates, deductions, and direct deposit details.

- Monitor and manage balances for vacation time and other paid time off.

- Handle workers' compensation tracking and make appropriate payroll adjustments.

- Verify payroll data for accuracy and resolve discrepancies promptly.

- Address employee inquiries regarding payroll matters with attention to detail and in a timely manner.

- Ensure adherence to company policies and compliance with payroll regulations.

- Collaborate with internal teams to support payroll-related initiatives and reporting needs. Requirements - Proven experience in full-cycle payroll processing, preferably for large organizations.

- Proficiency with ADP Workforce Now or similar payroll systems.

- Knowledge of multi-state payroll regulations and practices.

- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify and resolve discrepancies.

- Excellent organizational and time management skills.

- Ability to handle sensitive employee information with confidentiality.

- Effective communication skills for addressing payroll-related inquiries.

- Familiarity with workers' compensation tracking and payroll adjustments.
