ROCHESTER, NY 14623, Salary Range: $85,000.00 - $95,000.00 Salary/year
The Director of Human Resources and Administration is responsible for the overall Human Resources function. This includes evaluation and execution of Human Resources tasks by planning, implementing, and evaluating employee relations, recruiting, and payroll processing. Additionally, the person manages Association policies and practices as well as benefits administration. The position also supports the Association's Board of Directors and the Executive Director.
The DHRA is responsible for governance issues, including policy compliance and by-laws maintenance.
- Recruitment Lifecycle:
Maintain the Association's staff by establishing a recruiting process and leading search committees. This includes posting job openings, receiving and pre-screening candidate resumes, and writing targeted interview questions. - Hiring & Selection:
Counsel hiring managers on the interview process and candidate selection as needed. - Onboarding & Offboarding:
Conduct formal new employee hiring and orientation, brief candidates on the MCCA benefits program, prepare necessary candidate correspondence such as offer letters, and develop and update as needed and conduct structured exit interviews to obtain information beneficial for employee retention.
- Meeting Administration:
Assist in scheduling Board of Directors meetings, attend all Committee and Board meetings, and take and distribute accurate meeting minutes. - Policy Compliance:
Review Conflict of Interest Policy compliance annually. - By-Laws Maintenance:
Review the Association By-Laws with the Executive Director on an annual basis, and coordinate with legal counsel for reviews when needed. - Executive Support:
Assist the Executive Director in carrying out the policies, procedures, and special projects of the MCC Association, Inc.
- Program Management:
Maintain employee benefits programs by benchmarking and assessing benefit needs and trends, recommending plans to management, and directing the processing of claims. - Education & Enrollment:
Conduct annual open enrollment meetings to educate employees on benefit programs and assist them in selecting plans that meet their needs. - Retirement & Flex Plans:
Directly manage and administer the Association’s Retirement Plans and Flex Option Plans. - Financial Oversight:
Review monthly invoices for all benefit-related expenses.
- Payroll Execution:
Manage bi-weekly payroll. Enter all full-time new hires, process payroll changes, and maintain accurate employee information within the MCCA payroll system. - Wage Schedules:
Maintain MCCA exempt, non-exempt, and student wage schedules. Prepare and distribute annual cost of living increase notification letters. - Stipend Administration:
Prepare annual stipend letters for coaches and advisors, and provide stipend schedules to the HR and Payroll Compliance Clerk to ensure timely payment.
- Performance Evaluations:
Facilitate the annual employee performance evaluation process by recommending evaluation tools, distributing review forms to managers, and monitoring their return. Periodically review templates, organize and provide comments. - Policy & Job Description s:
Write and update MCCA position descriptions. Develop, recommend, and implement personnel policies and procedures, and maintain a comprehensive MCCA employee handbook requiring annual signed acknowledgments. - Employee Relations & Disciplinary Action:
Coach supervisors on performance and review counseling documents. Facilitate disciplinary meetings, hear and resolve employee grievances, and make recommendations to the Executive Director regarding disciplinary actions up to and including termination. Support termination meetings and manage exit correspondence. - Training & Professional Development:
Develop and conduct employee training sessions to ensure mandated compliance with current relevant and legal standards. Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending workshops, reviewing publications, and participating in professional societies.
