We are partnering with a well-established manufacturing organization in the Rochester area to identify a Systems Administrator who will support and maintain the company’s IT infrastructure across office and production environments. This role is ideal for someone who has supported users and systems in a manufacturing setting and understands the importance of uptime, security, and responsiveness in a plant-driven operation.
The Systems Administrator will be responsible for day-to-day systems administration, end-user support, and ongoing infrastructure reliability, working closely with internal teams to support business and manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities- Install, configure, and maintain Windows servers, operating systems, and core IT infrastructure
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues
- Administer user accounts, permissions, and access controls across systems and applications
- Perform regular system backups and support disaster recovery planning and testing
- Apply security patches, updates, and antivirus protections to maintain system integrity
- Maintain accurate documentation of systems, configurations, and procedures
- Provide technical support to end users in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Support and participate in infrastructure upgrades, system improvements, and IT projects
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure technology supports operational and production needs
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field required
- Experience as a Systems Administrator or similar IT infrastructure role
- Hands-on experience supporting Windows server environments and end users
- Prior experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment strongly preferred
- Working knowledge of Active Directory, user access management, and system security
- Experience with system backups, patching, and basic disaster recovery practices
- Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware, software, and network issues
- Ability to prioritize and respond effectively in an operational, production-focused setting
- Strong communication skills and a service-oriented mindset
