Help Desk Technician Position Overview
The Help Desk Technician thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and enjoys solving technical challenges. This role provides technical support to employees across both corporate and operational (warehouse/manufacturing) settings. You will support onsite and remote users, troubleshoot hardware and software issues, and play a key role in employee onboarding, device deployment, and IT operations.
Help Desk Technician Responsibilities
- Provide end-user support (onsite and remote) for Windows desktops/laptops, devices, and mobile/scanner equipment
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, connectivity, and network issues
- Manage and triage tickets in a help desk/ticketing system; communicate status updates and escalate issues as needed
- Support employee onboarding and offboarding, including account setup/deactivation, device provisioning, permissions, and mailbox access
- Build, image, deploy, upgrade, and decommission workstations using standard imaging tools and processes
- Configure, troubleshoot, and maintain barcode scanners and mobile data collection devices
- Assist with hardware, software, and system rollouts
- Participate in scheduled maintenance windows and occasional after-hours support
- Associate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent hands-on experience
- 1-3 years of experience in help desk, desktop support, or a similar IT role
- Strong experience supporting Windows desktops/laptops, including imaging and troubleshooting
- Basic networking knowledge (DHCP, DNS, TCP/IP, wireless troubleshooting)
- Strong customer service and communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users
- Excellent time-management skills and ability to adapt in environments with evolving processes
- Experience supporting warehouse, logistics, or manufacturing environments is highly preferred.
