As aCustomer Support Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our fire station alerting systems run smoothly. This position requires strong Linux troubleshooting skills and exceptional customer-facing abilities, as you’ll be working directly with fire departments to resolve technical issues while providing outstanding support. This role involves a rotating on-call schedule.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide technical support for fire station alerting systems as well as our free mobile application.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Linux systems, network configurations, and software applications.
- Collaborate with internal teams to escalate complex technical issues and facilitate timely resolutions.
- Communicate clearly with customers, guiding them through troubleshooting steps and technical solutions.
- De-escalate challenging situations with empathy and professionalism to maintain positive customer relationships.
- Document technical issues and resolutions to enhance our knowledge base and improve future support efforts.
- Participate in training sessions and contribute to team development initiatives.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience in technical support roles, preferably with a focus on Linux environments and networking.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve Linux-related issues.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with experience in customer-facing roles.
- Familiarity with conflict resolution and de-escalation techniques.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with ticketing systems and remote support tools is beneficial.
- Strong understanding and ability to troubleshoot low-voltage systems is a plus.
