Job Description Summary

The Business Systems Analyst is a critical role in the delivery of products for Lifetime Healthcare Companies. This position collaborates with stakeholders throughout the organization to understand business objectives and defines IT system requirements and specifications for the implementation of IT system solutions. The Business Systems Analyst will serve as the primary interface between the business and IT teams to gather, document and analyze all levels of requirements with the emphasis on delivering functional and non-functional requirements to solution architects and IT teams.

The Business Systems Analyst collaborates with stakeholders to set scope for work items. The position is an excellent opportunity to be part of a cross-functional team working across the enterprise, on enterprise services. We are looking for an individual who has prior, hands‑on experience as a back‑end software developer, to partner with the business, solution architects, developers and other Business Systems Analysts.

Essential Accountabilities
  • All Levels:
    Collaborates with stakeholders to elicit, analyze, specify and gather business, stakeholder, and solution requirements; assists with documented requirements using the organization’s methodology; creates functional and non‑functional requirements based on stakeholder input; develops expertise in assigned business, application, and data domains; participates in peer reviews; defines scope in an iterative release process; demonstrates high standards of integrity and supports corporate values and privacy policies;

    ensures reliable attendance; performs additional duties as assigned.
  • LevelII (additional):
    Conducts research and systems analysis for IT‑related requirements, including data and cloud technologies; manages scope changes, identifies risks, and creates recovery plans with management and development teams; works with stakeholders to define the minimal viable product.
  • LevelIII (additional):
    Assesses requirements and recommends improvements; mentors and trains other Business Systems Analysts; considered a subject‑matter expert in the assigned business area and data domain; leads complex projects and work efforts to obtain requirements that support business, enterprise, and data strategies.
  • LevelIV (additional):
    Leads peer reviews to assess quality and completeness of requirements; provides guidance on best practices; identifies process or implementation improvement opportunities; negotiates and serves as liaison with IT resources, business stakeholders, and external vendors; often acts as project spokesperson; writes and speaks fluently on all aspects of work; considered a subject‑matter expert across multiple business areas and data domains; demonstrates leadership in creating requirements with multiple levels of management and architects.
Minimum Qualifications
  • LevelI:
    Associate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or related field, or three (3) years of relevant work experience in lieu of a degree. Basic understanding of business flow diagramming tools such as data flow, UML, or capabilities matrices; basic data and systems analytics skills; experience writing concise requirements or user stories; basic familiarity with waterfall or agile scrum methodologies;

    knowledge of automated testing preferred; intermediate communication skills (oral presentations, writing, facilitation, elicitation, negotiation, active listening, influence positive team dynamics); advanced MS Office proficiency; ability to prioritize work and define objectives with minimal supervision; critical thinking and analytical problem‑solving skills; teamwork ability.
  • LevelII:
    All LevelI qualifications plus three (3) additional years of relevant work experience, an Associate degree (or additional three years in lieu of a degree), basic SQL skills with ability to execute queries and interpret data; intermediate knowledge of business, technology, and data domains; intermediate experience with business flow diagramming tools and autonomous requirement writing; demonstrated experience…
