Summary

The IT Platform Administrator acts as a liaison between the business and technical resources by ensuring the availability and successful operation of applications for users. This individual demonstrates high responsibility and consistency by monitoring, responding, and troubleshooting incidents, installing, upgrading, and maintaining application currency. The role also identifies functionality to empower users through self‑service and automation, performs periodic audits, and maintains application compliance while advocating for stakeholders’ best interests.

ResponsibilitiesLevelI
  • Installs, configures, troubleshoots, patches, and maintains enterprise software platforms to achieve reliable, highly available, well‑performing systems.
  • Conducts testing, systems troubleshooting, performance optimization, and maintenance of applications.
  • Monitors system uptime and performance, and maintains system configuration and backups to ensure recoverability within stakeholder specifications.
  • Manages user and system accounts, network rights, and access to integrated systems in accordance with organizational and regulatory policies.
  • Collaborates with cross‑functional teams, developers, QA personnel, and business teams to triage, troubleshoot, and facilitate incident resolution.
  • Documents resolutions of problem tickets including root‑cause analysis.
  • Uses the organization’s support ticketing system and partners with internal teams and vendors to analyze operational procedures, identify and escalates issues, and create effective resolutions.
  • Prepares and maintains documentation per standards to comply with change management controls, providing feedback regarding release documentation to Release Management and development teams.
  • Participates in on‑call production support rotation, including off‑hours.
  • Displays integrity by supporting the company’s mission, values, Corporate Code of Conduct, and privacy policies.
  • Maintains reliable attendance and performs other functions as assigned by management.
LevelII (additional to LevelI responsibilities)
  • Proactively identifies system risks, provides recommendations, and plans for growth, system improvements, upgrades, and other system activities.
  • Serves as a subject‑matter expert determining business requirements for maintaining and improving application software.
  • Coordinates with vendors to stay informed of application functionality changes and reviews new releases for impact assessment.
  • Generates relevant ideas for new and improved use of technology based on corporate business and stakeholder needs.
  • Identifies best practices and participates in creating and monitoring organizational standards and controls.
  • Defines and implements processes to maintain application security.
LevelIII (additional to LevelII responsibilities)
  • Acts as a subject‑matter expert across a wide range of software components, systems, and vendors, mentoring less experienced team members.
  • Participates in complex troubleshooting, supporting developers and vendors in resolution.
  • Researches and maintains currency with new technologies, recommending strategy updates and changes when appropriate.
  • Initiates and leads meetings, develops agendas, and tasks to ensure effective deployment and utilization of applications.
  • Develops training, communication, and process documentation, and facilitates presentations.
LevelIV (additional to LevelIII responsibilities)
  • Acts as a trusted advisor to the leadership team.
  • Leads business‑critical project efforts for applications, emphasizing technology cost optimization.
  • Provides mentorship to technical staff at all levels in their areas of expertise.
  • Leads internal strategic efforts and is seen as a trusted advisor with peers.
Qualifications All Levels
  • Associates degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Business, Analytics, or related field; or three (3) years of related experience.
  • Prior professional, internship, or co‑op experience with enterprise‑scale platforms preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of structured systems analysis and design with emphasis on systems administration, user support, project management, data integrity, and data gathering techniques.
