- Provide direct support for Pharmacy and Medical Drug information needs using analytic tools and applications
- Work with internal and external stakeholders and management to achieve Pharmacy Markets strategy, growth, compliance, and affordability objectives
- Analyze data to identify business problems, trends, and process-improvement opportunities
- Provide consultation and analytic support for the Pharmacy Division, Health Plan departments, and external vendors
- Research, analyze, and evaluate feasibility of new Pharmacy products and programs
- Communicate health plan costs, utilization trends, and savings strategies to management, steering committees, and project sponsors
- Develop and deliver actionable insights to enterprise stakeholders
- Conduct comparative pricing analyses for pharmacy benefit Requests for Proposal with Sales, Finance, and Actuarial
- Support strategy development and innovative programs aligned with enterprise and pharmacy goals
- Support compliance with governmental, contractual, and corporate guidelines and participate in CMS and DOH compliance audits
- Develop standardized reporting and processes
- Compile and process complex datasets and provide user-friendly, actionable insights
- Collaborate with Business Intelligence teams to develop automated reports, dashboards, and cubes
- Engage external partners and customers, including employer groups, brokers, consultants, providers, and vendors
- Create strategies to reduce healthcare costs
- Manage multiple projects with competing deadlines
- Collaborate with team members and support their growth and development
- Investigate data issues and proactively communicate concerns to management and business partners
- Level II: train and mentor analysts, serve as a subject matter expert, and develop data strategies and process efficiencies
- Level III: optimize reporting tools, connect claims and healthcare management data, and develop predictive cost-savings models with Data Science
- Level IV: recommend advanced analytic models, perform data mining, conduct complex performance analysis, improve visual analytics, interpret model outputs, assess analytic product upgrades, and prepare studies for publication or national meetings
- Maintain member privacy, uphold the Corporate Code of Conduct and Lifetime Way values, and meet attendance requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Medical Informatics, Economics, or related field preferred; alternatively, two (2) related years’ experience in data or information analyses and reporting
- Knowledge and applicable use of analytic tools including SAS, Cognos, Excel, Access, SPSS, Data Flux, AQT, WinSCP, and PuTTY
- Proficiency in SAS and/or Cognos and Microsoft tools
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Knowledge of basic statistical concepts and strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to simplify complex datasets for varied audiences through visual interpretation and highlighting impactful data points
- Intermediate understanding of healthcare products and operational business knowledge
- Demonstrated analytic abilities and ability to complete projects with minimal supervision
- Knowledge of the healthcare system and experience with physician or hospital claims/group data preferred
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external customers and business partners
- Level II: minimum three years’ analytic experience in the healthcare industry
- Level II: ability to work with datasets of 2TB or greater and integrate structured and unstructured data across multiple sources
- Level II:
Microsoft Office Suite, VBA, SQL, Power Play, Impromptu, and moderate SAS proficiency - Level III: minimum five years’ experience using statistical concepts and tools
- Level III: demonstrated expertise in relational databases, data mining, forecasting, predictive modeling, and/or actuarial techniques
- Level IV: minimum three years’ healthcare-specific predictive modeling experience or seven years’ experience in health informatics
- Level IV: ability to create, develop, and validate models independently
