Job Summary

The Paralegal for the Banking and Financial Services practice group (based out of our Rochester, NY office), will support attorneys by performing a variety of tasks including legal research, document preparation, case management, and administrative duties. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational and attention to detail skills, and a solid understanding of legal procedures and terminology.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough legal research and prepare written reports, summaries, and drafts of legal documents.
  • Assist with case preparation by gathering information, preparing discovery documents, and drafting legal pleadings.
  • Draft and review legal documents such as contracts, pleadings, discovery requests, and responses.
  • Ensure all documents comply with legal procedures and requirements.
  • Assist in managing case files, including organizing case materials, maintaining client records, and tracking deadlines.
  • Prepare and file court documents and correspondence.
  • Communicate with clients to gather information, provide updates on case progress, and schedule meetings. Maintain professionalism and confidentiality in all client interactions.
  • Prepare and file documents with courts and other government agencies. Ensure all filings are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Stay informed about changes in laws, regulations, and procedures to ensure compliance in all tasks and responsibilities.
  • Additional responsibilities specific to your assigned practice group may be required.
  • Uphold the firm’s reputation as the premier source for sophisticated legal counsel by delivering superior outcomes, service, and value to every client and matter.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Associate’s degree in Paralegal Studies, Legal Studies, or a related field. A bachelor’s degree is preferred.
  • Relevant Paralegal certification (i.e. ACEBS) is preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Paralegal or in a legal support role.
  • Work experience as a practicing Paralegal in relevant practice area is preferred.
