Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.

Responsibilities

Directs and manages the daily administrative and operational functions supporting academic programs within the School of Nursing and Health Sciences. Oversees coordination across education operations including academic program administration, compliance, financial management, academic systems, and administrative workflows. Ensures alignment with institutional policies, accreditation standards, and School priorities. Serves as a strategic and operational partner to Education leadership, leading and supporting program planning, implementation, and continuous improvement aligned with School priorities.

Develops and maintains the administrative infrastructure necessary to support faculty, staff, and students across the education mission. Exercises responsibility for administrative operations including budget oversight, personnel management, system optimization, and program support.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Academic Fiscal Administration

Manage the creation, implementation, and evaluation of all academic budgets within the School of Nursing & Health Sciences, including annual operating budget of around $35M in revenue. Review and approve all revenue and expense activity, including reconciliation oversight. Interpret and apply appropriate accounting practices in daily financial decisions for all fund sources within the academic area, including operating, endowment, and gift funds.

Manage Sr. Financial Analyst and ensure timely and effective tuition, student aid, and faculty salary analysis are completed for SON leadership.

Academic Administration

Monitors and advises educational support services including simulation and experiential learning. Develops processes and policies to meet operational needs. Facilitates the intersection of senior leadership, faculty, and staff cultivating relationships and maintaining effective communications throughout the academic mission as well as with external constituents. Acts as an advisor to the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs with regard to University policies, education budgets, academic program benchmarking, etc.

Keeps abreast of trends and policies and adapts changes into planning, control and analytical processes.

Personnel Management

Recruits and supervises professional/administrative assigned staff. Provides initial and ongoing training and development including the use of information/financial systems. Provides ongoing feedback including a formal annual performance evaluation. Ensures staff are aware and compliant with University policies and procedures. Serves as advisor to all other staff within the education mission. Assigns projects, establishes deadlines, and ensures coordination of effort between internal staff and external constituents.

Takes action on matters of discipline, promotion, salary and other matters.

Financial Strategy

Work closely with Associate Dean for Finance & Operations on strategic financial planning, including 5-year tuition & aid planning, new program margin analysis, faculty resourcing planning, and other analysis. Collaborating with academic program directors, ensure communication of budgets and other financial matters are clear and transparent. Continuously evaluate and, when appropriate, make recommendations on financial process changes, such as tuition analysis, program costing, scholarship process, and student fee activities.

Develops, monitors, and reports on productivity targets and financial performance metrics.

Academic Systems

Evaluates and enhances the effectiveness, usability, and integration of academic systems and tools across the education mission. Leads system and process improvement initiatives, identifying gaps, redundancies, and opportunities for operational efficiency and enhanced user experience.
