We are seeking a talented Program Director, Rise Up Rochester to join our team of nearly 500 employees.
The Program Director serves as Rise Up Rochester's senior program operations leader and is responsible for the operational oversight of all organizational programs and program staff. Reporting directly to the Executive Director, the Program Director ensures that all programs are effectively implemented, aligned with organizational priorities, compliant with grant and contractual requirements, and achieve desired outcomes. The Program Director provides leadership, supervision, accountability, and support to program staff while fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, innovation, and continuous quality improvement.
This position is responsible for monitoring program performance, developing operational infrastructure and consistency across programs, identifying opportunities for growth and improvement, and ensuring program activities align with Rise Up Rochester's mission, strategic goals, and community needs. The Program Director works in close partnership with the Executive Director and Director of Grants Management & Compliance to ensure organizational priorities, funding requirements, program outcomes, and quality standards remain aligned.
Leadership and Oversight
Provide operational oversight and leadership for all Rise Up Rochester programs. Ensure all programs are aligned with organizational mission, strategic priorities, grant requirements, and community needs. Develop and implement systems that promote consistency, accountability, and operational excellence across programs. Establish program performance expectations and monitor progress toward goals, deliverables, and outcomes. Evaluate program effectiveness using data, performance metrics, participant feedback, and outcome measures.
Lead program planning, implementation, evaluation, and improvement initiatives. Identify opportunities for program growth, innovation, expansion, and increased community impact. Ensure appropriate risk management practices are embedded within program operations. Develop and maintain policies, procedures, and operational standards that support high‑quality service delivery.
Provide direct supervision and leadership to program staff and program leaders. Establish clear performance expectations and accountability measures for all supervised staff. Conduct regular supervision, coaching, performance evaluations, and professional development planning. Foster a culture of collaboration, communication, equity, trauma‑informed practice, and client‑centered services. Partner with organizational leadership on workforce planning and staffing strategies. Participate in recruitment, interviewing, hiring, onboarding, disciplinary processes, and staff retention efforts.
Support succession planning and leadership development within program teams.
