Causewave has introduced a pivotal new role: the Director of Fund Development. This leadership position is central to the organization’s next stage of growth, and to establishing a culture of philanthropy within this 76-year old organization with deep and broad relationships across the community. The Director will be responsible for strengthening relationships with funders, donors, and collaborators while crafting and sharing a compelling narrative about Causewave’s community impact.
This is an opportunity for an experienced fundraiser to have significant impact – strengthening community partnerships, diversifying revenue streams, and significantly elevating the organization’s visibility. The successful candidate will partner closely with leadership and marketing to develop coordinated strategies that drive increased support. The Director will directly manage the Senior Manager, Grants Capacity Building.
The Director of Marketing and Fund Development should have experience with and the ability to:
- Lead the organization’s funding strategy development and implementation, including individual, corporate and foundation giving.
- Plan and execute the organization’s annual fundraising event, with support from staff, board and volunteers.
- Manage the organization’s major donor giving effort, the W.B. Potter Society.
- Inspire high-level contributions from the Senior Manager, Grants Capacity Building, by building a trusting supportive relationship. This experienced professional manages a busy program and supports Causewave’s own grant writing.
- Collaborate with the Senior Manager, Grants Capacity Building on program measurement, improvement and enhancement.
- Build relationships with local, regional and national funders that help them see Causewave as an essential investment in strengthening organizations, systems and communities.
- Partner with the President & CEO to develop and ensure implementation of strategies that build and maintain key relationships with supporters (donors, sponsors and funders).
- Partner with other team members to develop compelling grant proposals.
- Contribute to marketing and communications activities, including web, social media, email and other channels, to share inspirational stories of impact.
- Collaborate with the Director of Finance and Administration to track fund development revenue projections against actual financial performance and refine strategies as required.
- Contribute to the annual budget development process.
- Ensure Causewave is always in compliance with all requirements of our grants.
- Engage with the Board of Directors to inform them of our progress; learn from their expertise; and capitalize on their willingness to serve as ambassadors to supporters of all types.
- Limited engagement in our program work in development or other areas of expertise.
