Position Overview:
Job Title: Residential Services Manager (RSM) Location: Rochester, NY 14626 Department: Residential Services Reports To: Associate Director - Residential Employment Type: Full-Time, Monday/Wednesday 9am-5pm, Tuesday/Thursday 8am-4pm, Friday 7am-3pm (Saturday/Sunday OFF) Starting Wage: $36.42 – $39.03

Your Core Responsibilities:
- Lead & Develop Staff: Supervise, train, evaluate, schedule, and support DSPs while ensuring effective onboarding, reliable coverage, accurate timekeeping, and a posted master schedule at least one month in advance.
- Champion Person-Centered Support: Protect the health, safety, rights, and preferences of each individual while promoting independence, meaningful choice, community engagement, and active participation in service planning.
- Oversee Plans & Documentation: Ensure Staff Action Plans, Individual Plans of Protection, clinical plans, incident reports, and daily records are implemented and documented accurately and on time.
- Maintain Quality & Compliance: Ensure residential services meet agency policies, OPWDD regulations, and federal and state standards; participate in QA/QI audits and complete corrective actions as needed.
- Coordinate Health & Wellness: Partner with RNs and staff to support medication administration, medical care, special diets, adaptive equipment, food-consistency requirements, and follow-up on medication errors.
- Manage Home Operations: Conduct monthly site inspections, coordinate maintenance needs and site improvements, oversee personal allowance ledgers, and support sound fiscal practices.
- Respond & Collaborate: Serve in the Administrator On-Call rotation, manage emergencies and reportable incidents, assist with intake and discharge, and maintain respectful communication with families, Care Coordinators, and interdisciplinary partners.
What You Bring:
- Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree in a related field plus one year of experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities; OR an associate degree plus three years of experience; OR a high school diploma or equivalent plus five years of experience, including one year in a supervisory role. Exceptional candidates with less experience may be considered.
- Leadership Skills: Strong supervision, communication, organization, decision-making, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and collaborate across teams.
- Program Knowledge: Knowledge of OPWDD regulations, person-centered planning, residential documentation, scheduling, and agency communication systems.
