Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
Press Technician – Rochester, NY
Pay: $24–$34/hr + $0.50 shift differential
Schedule:
- Monday-Friday | 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM (+ peak overtime)
- Sunday–Thursday | 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM (+ peak overtime)
Fast-paced print manufacturing site seeking a hands‑on technician to keep advanced digital presses — including HP Indigo platforms — running at top performance. This role focuses on uptime, rapid troubleshooting, and quality output.
What You’ll Do- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on digital press equipment
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and control issues
- Partner with OEM support and field engineers on complex repairs
- Handle installs, upgrades, rebuilds, and critical components
- Respond quickly to downtime tickets and production issues
- Maintain service records and parts inventory
- Follow all safety and lockout/tagout procedures
- 2+ years of experience servicing digital presses or similar industrial production equipment
- Manufacturer training or certification on HP Indigo systems
- Experience supporting Series 3, Series 4, 18K, or 7250 platforms preferred
- Exposure to Canon inkjet equipment is a plus
- Solid skills in electrical and mechanical diagnostics
- PLCs, sensors, motion control, and servo/stepper systems
- Control wiring, panels, and safety circuits
- Reading schematics and ladder logic
- Root cause analysis and precision test instruments
- Able to work independently, prioritize repairs, and record work clearly
- Willing to work overtime and flexible schedules during peak production
- Team-oriented with strong communication habits
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Digital press or manufacturer certifications preferred
- Ongoing technical training and skills development encouraged
