Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Die Maintenance and Repair Technician to join our production facility. The ideal candidate will have in-depth experience maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing our dies, including progressive stamping dies used in high-volume, high-precision jewelry component manufacturing. This role is critical in ensuring that our tooling runs safely, efficiently, and to exact quality standards.

- Preventive & Corrective Maintenance:
Perform routine maintenance on progressive dies to prevent production downtime and execute corrective repairs on worn or damaged tooling. - Troubleshooting:
Analyze and troubleshoot die issues in the press and the tool room, identifying root causes for product defects (e.g., burrs, dimensional inaccuracies, material defects). - Component Repair:
Disassemble, inspect, sharpen, and replace die components (punches, die buttons, springs, strippers). - Precision Machining:
Operate tool room machinery, including grinders, manual milling machines, lathes, and drill presses to fabricate or repair die components to tight tolerances. - Welding:
Perform TIG welding on tool steel for repairs as necessary. - Set up & Assembly:
Assemble, align, and shim die components to ensure proper function. - Documentation:
Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, repairs, and tool modifications. - Quality Control:
Utilize precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, gauges) to ensure parts meet exacting, high-quality jewelry industry standards. - Safety & 5S:
Follow all safety protocols, including LOTO (Lockout/Tagout) procedures, and maintain a clean, organized 5S workstation.
- Required:
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in die maintenance and repair, specifically focusing on progressive stamping dies. - Required:
Strong proficiency in reading blueprints, engineering drawings, and strip layouts. - Required:
Expertise in operating manual tool room equipment (grinders, mills, lathes). - Required:
Experience with TIG welding for tool steel repairs. - Preferred:
Experience in jewelry manufacturing or precision micro-stamping. - Preferred:
Knowledge of tool steels, heat treatment processes, and coating types. - Skills:
Strong analytical problem-solving skills, high attention to detail, and ability to work independently.
- 8 hour shifts or 4 10 hour shifts
