Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
Maintenance Technician – Rochester, NY
Pay: $23–$29/hr + shift differential (based on experience)
Schedule:
- Sunday - Thursday | 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM (+ peak overtime & weekend coverage as needed)
A growing print manufacturing operation, hiring a hands‑on Maintenance Technician to support production equipment and facility systems on B Shift. This role helps keep digital print, bindery, and finishing operations running safely and reliably through preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and timely repairs.
You’ll work closely with production and engineering teams to reduce downtime, improve equipment performance, and maintain a safe, organized plant environment. Strong performers can grow into higher technician levels with expanded responsibility.
What You’ll DoPerform preventive maintenance and routine repairs on print, bindery, and finishing equipment
Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues with guidance from senior techs when needed
Support Level 2 maintenance on select HP Indigo press platforms and related systems
Coordinate with OEM service partners for advanced technical issues
Maintain and repair finishing and post‑press equipment
Assist with equipment installs, startups, and process changes
Support building and facility needs including lighting, minor electrical, carpentry, and general repairs
Respond to maintenance tickets and communicate status updates clearly
Follow lockout/tagout, PPE, and chemical handling requirements
Keep maintenance areas, tools, and parts storage clean and organized
Document completed work and help track parts and supply needs
Step in to assist production tasks when plant priorities require it
Hands‑on maintenance experience in manufacturing or plant environments
Mechanical aptitude and ability to safely use hand and power tools
Working knowledge of basic building systems (electrical, lighting, ventilation, plumbing)
Interest in learning digital print and finishing equipment through on‑the‑job training
Ability to diagnose and complete basic to intermediate repairs
Comfortable working both independently and on a team
Strong focus on safety, organization, and detail
Basic computer skills (Word/Excel or similar)
Clear verbal and written communication
Flexibility for overtime, weekends, or holiday coverage
High school diploma or GED required
Technical or vocational training preferred
OSHA safety training a plus
Forklift certification helpful
