PositionSummary
The Procurement Specialist is responsible for sourcing materials, negotiating with suppliers, managing purchase orders, and ensuring timely delivery of components required for custom manufacturing projects. This role plays a critical part in maintaining production schedules and controlling project costs.
Responsibilities- Source materials, components, and services
- Issue and manage purchase orders
- Develop and maintain supplier relationships
- Negotiate pricing and lead times
- Monitor inventory levels and material requirements
- Coordinate closely with warehouse operations, engineering, production, and project management teams
- Resolve supplier quality and delivery issues
- Track procurement metrics and cost-saving initiatives
- Support production planning and scheduling activities
- 3+ years of purchasing or procurement experience
- Manufacturing environment experience
- Strong organizational and analytical skills
- Experience working with vendors and suppliers
- Proficiency with Google Suite & Monday, or ability to learn quickly
- Experience purchasing construction materials, fabricated components, electrical components, or industrial equipment
- Experience with inventory management systems
- Ability to read engineering drawings and specifications
