Plastic Fabricator

Plastic Fabricator – W2 (Temporary to Permanent) – Rochester, NY

Hours:

7:00 AM to 3:30 PM.

This role involves welding, drilling, cutting, forming and shaping plastic to fabricate and assemble plastic tanks and other types of process equipment. Tasks include custom fabrication of new equipment, rework and repair of equipment using power tools, hand tools and precision equipment. Reading work orders and interpreting blueprints is required to plan and carry out design specifications.

• Welding, drilling, cutting, forming and shaping plastic components.
• Fabricate and assemble plastic tanks and process equipment.
• Use hand tools, power tools and precision equipment for rework and repair.
• Read and interpret work orders and blueprints to determine specifications.
• Operate in a job‑shop environment, following directions with minimal supervision.
• Perform tasks in confined spaces and on ladders or mechanical lifts.
• Maintain a clean workspace and observe safety rules and practices.

• High school education required.
• Must pass a basic shop mathematics test at time of application.
• Valid NYS driver’s license required.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50lbs and perform aerial work involving ladders and manlifts.
• Ability to work overtime, travel, and adapt to changing priorities.
• Experience with carpentry/woodworking and piping is preferred.
• Familiarity with hand and power carpentry tools.
• Fabrication experience preferred.
• Strong communication skills, good listening ability, multitasking.
• Attention to detail, effective documentation, reliable and punctual.
• DOT physical may be required.
• Ability to use protective equipment including safety shoes, glasses, hearing protection, full‑body harness, face mask/covering as required.
• Comfort with working in confined spaces.
• Understanding of safety rules and practices.

Pay Rate: $19 – $23.86 per hour.
