Location: City of Rochester

Laser Machine Operator

Pay Rate: $18.00 - $23.50 per hour (based on experience)

Shift: Monday-Thursday 6am-3:30pm, Friday 6am-10am

A reputable manufacturing company is seeking an experienced Laser Machine Operator to join its production team. This position requires previous hands‑on experience operating industrial laser cutting equipment. Candidates should be comfortable working in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment while maintaining quality and production standards.

Responsibilities
  • Operate laser cutting machinery to produce parts according to specifications
  • Select and load appropriate cutting programs and machine setups
  • Perform machine adjustments, including focal point and cutting parameter settings
  • Complete equipment setups for various production runs
  • Conduct routine machine maintenance and preventative upkeep
  • Inspect finished parts to ensure dimensional accuracy and quality standards
  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions
  • Identify material defects, equipment issues, or production concerns and report them to supervision
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • Assist with additional manufacturing duties as needed
Qualifications
  • Previous laser machine operating experience is required
  • Experience with laser systems such as Trumpf, Amada, Bystronic, or similar equipment
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
  • Knowledge of sheet metal materials, thicknesses, and cutting processes
  • Familiarity with CAD software such as AutoCAD or Solid Works
  • Experience with nesting/CAM software is a plus
  • Understanding of CNC machine operations and basic G-code concepts
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing practices and continuous improvement principles
  • Experience working with ERP systems and production scheduling software is beneficial
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
