Full Time – Advantech Industries Inc., Rochester, NY, US. Salary: $24.00 to $32.00 per hour.

Advantech Industries, Inc. is a family‑owned manufacturing company based in Rochester, New York, specializing in CNC machining, sheet metal fabrication, welding, and assembly services. Founded in 2002, the company serves defense, medical, aerospace, and other industries from a 250,000‑square‑foot facility.

We are currently seeking an individual to collaborate with us as a Laser Set Up/Operator. The Laser Set Up/Operator is responsible for setting up and observing lasers to verify the accuracy of the machine settings and to detect malfunctions or out‑of‑tolerance operation, using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers and calipers. The role also includes loading and unloading of the laser and manual deburring of parts.

• Follow directions to produce required quantity of parts.
• Follow all safety rules regarding machine operation and proper guarding.
• Take care of routine machine maintenance and keep the work area neat.
• Set up jobs according to specifications or work orders.
• Move raw material to machines for finishing.
• Create release of lasered parts from stack material by shaking.
• Move finished parts to the next operation.
• Set up machine for production using prints.
• Handle material weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Assist in training new employees.

• Work with limited supervision and maintain a strong work ethic as part of a customer‑driven quality team.

• Maintain performance and motivation on routine, repetitive tasks.
• Understand and execute oral and written directives.

• Use precision measuring tools such as calipers.
• Read drawings and blueprints; be familiar with common machine tools.
• Perform basic arithmetic operations in all units of measure.

According to the New York Pay Transparency law, pay range for this job is $24.00 - $32.00 / hour. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.

Schedule:

Monday through Friday 7:30 am to 4:00 pm. Full‑time employment (39.75 hours per week).
