Machine Operator – Grinder (1st or 2nd Shift Available)

- 1st Shift: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
- 2nd
Shift:- Monday–Thursday: 3:00 PM – 12:15 AM
- Friday: 3:00 PM – 7:00 PM (may extend to 8 hours as needed)
We are seeking a skilled Machine Operator with experience in grinding operations to join our team. In this role, you will set up and operate finish grinding equipment to produce precision components that meet tight tolerances and high-quality standards. This is a great opportunity for someone who thrives in an independent, detail-focused manufacturing environment.
- Set up and operate surface and finish grinding machines to meet dimensional and tolerance requirements
- Select appropriate grinding speeds and feeds based on material type
- Dress and maintain grinding wheels to ensure proper surface finishes
- Inspect parts using micrometers, calipers, and precision measuring tools
- Identify and report material defects or machining issues
- Operate CNC mills and lathes as needed to support production
- Read and follow G-code and M-code instructions for setup and operation
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
- Work independently to meet production goals while maintaining quality standards
- Experience setting up and operating surface or finish grinding machines
- Strong understanding of grinding processes and wheel maintenance
- Ability to read and interpret G-code and M-code
- CNC machining experience (mills and lathes)
- Proficiency with precision measuring tools
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain tight tolerances
- Ability to identify defects and communicate effectively
- Self-motivated and able to work independently
- Experience with HAAS or Tormach equipment
- Experience in a manufacturing or production environment
- Familiarity with quality inspection processes and documentation
- Willingness to learn new equipment and grow within the company

This is a Permanent position based out of Rochester, NY.
Pay and Benefits:
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $28.00/hr eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
