Sheeting Operator; B​/C Shift

Mercury Print Productions is looking for a Sheeting Operator to join our team!

• Job Title: Sheeting Operator
• Location: Rochester Tech Park, 2332 Innovation Way, Bldg 4, Rochester, NY 14624. Must have reliable transportation.
• Schedule: Full-time. A Shift: Monday-Thursday 6:00 AM-4:30 PM; B/C Shift: Monday-Thursday 6:00 PM-4:30 AM.
• Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour. Plus $0.75 per hour shift differential for B/C Shift. Final compensation is based on experience.
• Job Summary: The Sheeting Operator performs intermediate level manual and machine tasks to transition paper rolls to sheeted book blocks, performing general bindery functions to produce quality work.
• Reports To: Digital Print Manager.

• Operate bindery machine equipment (without supervision) including EMT and Lasermax.
• Maintain equipment logbook, troubleshoot equipment problems, and assist with machine maintenance.
• Accurately apply job ticket information, enter production data records, and meet production standards.
• Notify management of impending problems, supply needs, or other production/scheduling concerns.
• Keep work area neat and orderly.
• Reduce risk of high-cost occurrences / production errors through quality control.
• Continuously work to develop skills and knowledge and complete all training required by the company.
• Be a team player, communicate clearly and respectfully, and maintain a positive attitude.
• Be dependable, reliable, and consistently perform high-quality work meeting company production standards.
• Create a safe and hazard-free work environment; follow safety protocols and report any risks.
• Perform other duties as needed/assigned.
• Adhere to all company policies and procedures.

• Experience: Minimum of 2 years machine operator experience, print industry and/or bindery experience preferred. Electric pallet jack experience preferred.

  Skills:
  
  Machine operation, computer skills and high-level math skills required. Ability to apply written instructions and dimensions to machine operation. Knowledge of bindery and/or sheeting operations preferred.
• Education: High school diploma or GED required.
• Must be of legal working age and eligible to work in the U.S.

• Indoors in a temperature-controlled manufacturing facility; may be exposed to loud sounds, hazardous chemicals, and equipment. Must be able to bend, lift and carry up to 60 lbs.; stand/walk on hard surfaces for extended periods; complete repetitive tasks; operate computers and machines (dexterity, bend, stretch, reach, climb, crouch, etc.); communicate effectively.
