An Electronics Production Associate is responsible for performing a variety of tasks and processes to complete electronic assemblies and sub‑assemblies, including soldering, machine operation, and final assembly.
Production Associates must be able to follow established methods and procedures to ensure these tasks are completed as directed by manufacturing schedules with limited supervision. This role reports to the Production Supervisor. Hours of work: afternoon shift.
ResponsibilitiesPerforms intermediate assembly tasks such as transformers, resistors, transistors, capacitors, integrated circuits, and sockets on chassis panels. Reads work orders, follows production drawings and sample assemblies, and/or receives verbal instructions regarding duties to be performed. Uses hand tools, power tools, machines, or other equipment to perform work. May perform assembly operations under a microscope or another magnifying device. Inspects own work to ensure parts and assemblies meet production specifications and standards.
Conducts quality checks periodically. Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness by meeting all productivity and quality objectives. Communicates with team and support staff to ensure continuous production at high‑quality levels.
Required
- Advanced soldering and repair/rework skills
- Ability to use solder extractor tools
- Basic computer skills—accurate with data entry
- Good math skills with the ability to count and measure
- Accurate visual acuity for color and depth perception; vision sufficient to accurately measure in a fraction of an inch
- Manual dexterity to handle small hand tools including soldering iron
- Read and understand moderately complex assembly instructions
- Comprehend written and verbal assignments
- Ability to work as a team member in a diverse work environment
Minimum Education:
High School Diploma or GED.
- Work environment:
Production environment where noise level is generally moderately noisy. - Position:
Primarily sitting; may require standing, walking, sitting, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. - Weight requirements:
Must be able to lift up to 20 lbs. - Vision, speech, hearing, smell, and touch are routinely used in day‑to‑day functions.
