Production Planner

Plans and prepares production schedules for manufacture of industrial products with use of MRP and computer information systems.

Compiles work order routing sequences to include vendor, QC and related operations.

Assists in establishing sequence and lead time of each operation to meet shipping dates according to sales forecasts or customer orders.

Expedites operations that delay schedules and alters schedules to meet unforeseen conditions.

Plans and schedules workflow in accordance with previously established manufacturing sequences and lead times.

Coordinate and direct production planning to verify manufacturing schedules and provide input to the Production Manager for the creation of project schedules as required by the customer.

Coordinate raw materials, purchased parts, manufactured parts, the building of sub-assemblies, and final assemblies to support customer ship dates.

Interface with the Materials & Customer Service Manager, Production Manager and Contract Specialists as required to support customer ship dates.

Plans sequence of vendor operations, assembly, installation, and other manufacturing operations for guidance of production workers.

Confers with department supervisors to determine status of assigned projects.

Maintain check on vendor due dates, Stockroom, Receiving, and Shipping to keep informed.

Perform other similar or related duties as assigned, or as necessary to accomplish job objectives and Company goals in an effective manner.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.

The employee frequently is required to sit.

The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, and climb or balance.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and ability to adjust focus.

Minimum Qualifications:

Associate degree or equivalent; or minimum of three years related experience and/or training in production planning with MRP and computer background; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
