Associate Operator (Operator I)
Location:
Rochester, NY 14626 Duration: 6 Months with possibility of extension Shift: Rotation:
Two 12 hour days (6:00am-6:00pm) followed by two 12 hour nights (6:00pm-6:00am)
The Operator is responsible for operating, setting up, and maintaining manufacturing equipment used to assemble, inspect, and package products while ensuring quality and safety standards are met.
Key Responsibilities- Production & Quality (35%)
- Set up and operate production equipment.
- Follow work instructions and specifications.
- Perform in-process and final product inspections to ensure quality standards.
- Equipment Operation & Maintenance (35%)
- Monitor equipment performance.
- Clean equipment and perform basic maintenance or minor repairs.
- Report equipment issues, downtime, and maintenance needs.
- Documentation (10%)
- Maintain accurate production, quality, and testing records.
- Complete required documentation and reports.
- Troubleshooting (10%)
- Identify and resolve minor production or equipment problems.
- Escalate complex issues when needed.
- Continuous Improvement (10%)
- Participate in process improvement initiatives.
- Suggest ways to improve productivity, quality, and efficiency.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Use computers for documentation, training, and work orders.
- Operate hand tools and basic equipment.
- Train new employees as needed.
- Wear required PPE and work overtime when necessary.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Preferred: 1–2 years of manufacturing or operations experience.
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office).
- Strong attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and troubleshooting ability.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
- Lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
- Frequently lift 21–30 lbs.
- Push/pull wheeled equipment up to 800 lbs.
- Stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive tasks throughout shifts.
