Position Summary
The Material Process Operator performs a variety of material‑related functions, including the use of inventory control systems and the maintenance of documentation such as bills of lading and invoices.
Essential Functions- Receiving, checking, storing and issuing materials and supplies
- Maintaining accurate stock records
- Operating a forklift and motorized pallet jack to move stock, supplies, materials, and equipment
- Picking, kitting, and issuing parts to pump work orders
- Shipping duties related to parts and finished products
- Monitoring production measurement metrics
- Communicating defects or problems to supervisor, clearly describing defects to enable improvement
- Ensuring customer expectations of quality and on‑time delivery are met
- Ensuring all production material is available on the line
- Enforcing 6S on the line and best practices
- Complying with required use of personal protective equipment
- Performing visual inspections to confirm components are defect‑free
- Maintaining accurate records and documentation (bills of lading, invoices, and other related forms)
- Troubleshooting issues when they arise
- Planning and performing multiple sequences of operations
- Shuttle and loading trucks using forklift and motorized pallet jack
- Training new employees
- Minimum one‑year industrial experience
- Forklift and motorized pallet jack certification preferred
- High‑school diploma or equivalent
- Read and understand related documentation (bills of lading, invoices, and other forms)
- Demonstrate independent decision‑making
- Calculate required metrics
- Read and understand standard work instructions
- Maintain tools on the production line
- Understand and maintain 6S on primary lines, respecting other lines
- Train new employees
- Plan and perform multiple sequence operations of the production line
The starting compensation for this position is $24.20 per hour. The position may be eligible for a performance‑based bonus plan.
