Production Operator – Manufacturing

Rochester, NY
Schedule:
Rotating 12‑Hour Shift ("Fireman s Rotation")
- 2 Days: 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM
- 2 Nights: 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM
- Rotating schedule with built‑in days off
We are seeking a dependable Production Operator to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will operate production equipment, monitor product quality, complete production documentation, and support continuous manufacturing operations in a fast‑paced, regulated environment. The ideal candidate has manufacturing experience, strong attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and quality.
Responsibilities- Operate manufacturing equipment to produce high‑quality products according to established procedures.
- Perform visual inspections and use inspection tools to verify product quality.
- Make basic machine adjustments to maintain production efficiency.
- Accurately complete production records and quality documentation.
- Follow all standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and quality requirements.
- Work closely with Maintenance, Engineering, and Quality teams to minimize downtime and resolve production issues.
- Communicate equipment or quality concerns to supervisors and support personnel.
- Participate in shift changeovers to ensure smooth production transitions.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Operate computer‑controlled equipment and enter production information into company systems.
- Follow all environmental, health, and safety policies.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and support Lean manufacturing practices.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 1 year of manufacturing experience.
- Ability to perform basic machine adjustments and troubleshoot minor equipment issues.
- Experience working in a regulated manufacturing environment (cGMP, SOPs, quality systems, or similar) preferred.
- Mechanical aptitude and the ability to learn new equipment.
- Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and manufacturing software.
- SAP experience is a plus.
- Lean Manufacturing experience is preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Dependable, detail‑oriented, and able to work effectively in a team environment.
- Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the shift for extended periods.
- Lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
- Perform repetitive tasks and work around manufacturing equipment.
- Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment while following strict safety and quality standards.
