Role Description The Tool & Die Specialist is a full-time, on-site role in Honeote Falls, NY. This role is responsible for building, repairing, and maintaining tools, dies, and fixtures used in metal stamping and connector manufacturing. Daily tasks include setting up and operating machining equipment, diagnosing tooling issues, and implementing corrective actions to ensure efficient, high-quality production. The Tool & Die Specialist will collaborate with production and engineering teams to support new product launches, improve existing tooling designs, and document tooling changes and maintenance activities.The role may also involve assisting with process improvement initiatives, training operators on proper tooling use, and ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong machining skills, including experience with mills, lathes, grinders, and precision measuring tools.
- Candidates should possess troubleshooting skills for diagnosing tooling and equipment issues and implementing effective solutions.
- Candidates should possess clear communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and document tooling work accurately.
- Candidates should possess training and mentoring abilities to support operators and junior team members in proper tooling use and maintenance.
- Candidates should possess basic project management skills to plan, prioritize, and track tooling projects and maintenance activities.
- Relevant experience in tool and die making, metal stamping, or precision manufacturing environments.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
- Commitment to safety, quality standards, and continuous improvement in a manufacturing setting.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in machining or tool and die is preferred.
