Position SummaryFilm Coating Operator – Multiple Levels (Levels 2 and
3) in the Film manufacturing Department, Rochester, NY. The role performs assembly, coating, inspection, and troubleshooting under Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) to produce finished diagnostics products.
- Shift A (6:00AM – 2:30PM) – primary bi‑weekly rotation.
- Shift B (2:15PM – 10:45PM) – primary bi‑weekly rotation with occasional mandatory overtime.
- Shift C – straight‑cover 4 × 10hr shifts (M‑Th 9:30PM–7:30AM) may be available.
- Requirements: flexible shift work, including weekends, with overnight overtime as needed.
- Operate and troubleshoot coating equipment while following cGMP, OSHA, FDA, and ISO regulations.
- Set up and assemble components required for production.
- Visually inspect components and finished products for defects.
- Maintain clean, orderly work area and dispose of scrap/rejected material in accordance with safety regulations.
- Use computer‑based documentation systems (e.g., SAP, ERP, Microsoft Office) to review specifications, procedures, and reporting.
- Participate in process development, improvement projects, cost control, and new product manufacturing initiatives.
- Communicate effectively in writing and verbally with team members and partners.
- Accept personal responsibility for quality, timeliness, and safety of work.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum 3months experience in an operations or manufacturing environment (regulated industry preferred).
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Basic computer skills – Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Reading and writing proficiency in English.
- Knowledge of GMP/ISO regulations preferred.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 5+years experience in at least one of the following: X‑hopper/Slot Dye, solvent/aqueous coating, web conveyance, zenith pump, mechanical assembly, solution delivery systems.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Reading and writing proficiency in English.
- Basic computer skills – Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and SAP/ERP systems.
- Knowledge of GMP/ISO regulations preferred.
Work involves standing, walking, and sitting for extended periods; bending, stooping, and repetitive motions are common. Manual dexterity is required for manipulating parts. Lifting of up to 35–45lb is occasional.
CompensationHourly range:$20.00–$27.00per hour, bonus eligible.
