We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Safety Manager to join our team. This position works closely with the Quality, Safety, Tooling, and Prepress teams to assist in facilitating and carrying out various duties to promote a safe, accident-free work environment.
Essential Functions:
- Coordinate compliance of all required EHS regulations from both a preventative and incident response position. Adheres to and promotes environmental health and safety as one of the organization’s business priorities.
- Facilitate a comprehensive safety education program directed to supervisors and employees on Safety, Health and OSHA rules and regulations.
- Conduct safety orientation to all newly hired employees, current employees, temporary employees and contractors, to include working rules, and general safety policies that effect employees and on OSHA required topics on a monthly basis.
- Conduct periodic safety training to further educate employees on company policies and procedures as well as increasing awareness of accident trends and injury costs.
- Conduct periodic compliance audits throughout the plant. Coordinate correction of unsafe conditions or acts. Consult with department managers for recommendations on compliance.
- Lead all investigation of all accidents and ensure that proper reports are filed in a timely manner. Ensure all injuries are documented, investigated for legitimacy, and filed with appropriate state agencies.
- Lead the Safety Committee process and conduct meetings.
- Be a Safety and Regulatory Compliance expert. Remain up to date with changing regulations including OSHA, NAIOSH, etc.
- Conduct LO/TO audits and ensure compliance.
- Schedule and conduct Forklift training and evaluations.
- Lead the purchasing of safety equipment and systems.
- Maintain membership in applicable safety or environmental associations to stay informed of new developments and trends.
- Prepare legal notices, postings, and reports as required by government and regulatory bodies.
Education and/ or
Experience:
- Experience in EHS, preferably in a Manufacturing Setting.
- Preferred experience in the corrugated box industry.
Skills:
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures, manuals, regulations, and codes.
- Ability to write business correspondence.
- Ability to facilitate meetings and trainings.
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers, employees, and outside officials to the company.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Product and machinery specifications
- Proficient with all Microsoft Office Products
- Ability to have a flexible schedule to support multiple shifts is required.
$65,000-$90,000/year
