Provide the necessary Tooling skills to the Tool Room and Operations departments to achieve optimal levels of safety, quality, productivity and delivery while assuring internal and external customer satisfaction on both new and existing tooling.
Essential Functions:- Perform Mold maintenance on class A plastic injection molds.
- Make new parts for existing production molds using hand sketches, blueprints, and cad models.
- Understands advanced concepts within professional discipline. Applies knowledge and experience to complex tooling situations.
- Performs independently and uses experience to guide actions and recommends solutions to complex tooling issues.
- Recommend incorporation of new technology where feasible and practical.
- Determine priorities and implement cost reduction projects; maintain detailed documentation as required.
- Support process improvement initiatives and activities throughout the plant.
- Maintain and promote a safe and clean work environment.
- Document necessary information in mold maintenance per EPP standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- A minimum of five (5) years Mold Building experience
- Tig Welding / Laser Welding experience
- CNC and/or EDM experience desired.
- Tow motor experience
- Experience with manual mills, lathes, and surface grinders
- Understanding of Hot Runner (Husky and Mold Master) systems/manifolds
- Mastercam Knowledge
- Basic electrical knowledge
- Strong leadership and organizational skills
- Excellent organizational, analytical and communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize responsibilities in a fast-paced work environment.
- Ability to visualize and comprehend all aspects of a manufacturing equipment and tooling, understand the relationships of factors affecting a given situation, be attentive to detail, and continually seek to improve work processes.
Reports to: Tool Room Manager
Physical Requirements:
Ability to push, pull or lift 50 lbs. when required;
Ability to stand 8+ hours per day
Educational Requirement:
Journeyman Mold maker with a minimum of Five (5) years of hands-on Mold Building experience/repair experience.
