Production Supervisor

Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a Production Supervisor for one of our top manufacturing clients, Parker Hannifin's Plant 2 facility in the Rochester, NY area. This individual will serve as a hands-on leader responsible for driving production performance, developing employees, and maintaining a safe, high-quality manufacturing operation within a plastics injection molding environment.

This is a highly visible, floor-based leadership position where success is built through employee engagement, coaching, accountability, and operational excellence. The ideal candidate is comfortable spending the majority of their time on the production floor, supporting employees, solving problems in real time, and leading by example.

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of approximately 25-30 production employees and shift leads in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Manage daily production activities to ensure safety, quality, delivery, and productivity goals are achieved.
• Monitor production schedules, respond to changing priorities, and adjust staffing or resources as needed to support operational demands.
• Drive accountability for attendance, performance expectations, standard work, and workplace conduct.
• Conduct daily coaching, performance discussions, and employee development conversations, including corrective actions and disciplinary processes when necessary.
• Lead team meetings and support employee engagement initiatives focused on performance, communication, and continuous improvement.
• Troubleshoot production issues, partner with maintenance and quality teams, and help redirect resources during machine downtime or operational disruptions.
• Support hiring efforts for production employees, including interviewing and contributing to selection decisions.
• Reinforce compliance with safety requirements, quality standards, and IATF-regulated manufacturing processes.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives designed to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance overall plant performance.
• Build strong working relationships across production, quality, maintenance, HR, and plant leadership teams.
• Maintain a visible presence on the manufacturing floor and periodically provide support to second-shift operations.

Salary: $90k-$100k

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 2+ years of supervisory or leadership experience within a manufacturing environment.
• Experience working in plastics manufacturing, with injection molding experience strongly preferred.
• Experience leading hourly production employees.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively engage employees at all levels of the organization.
• Experience handling employee coaching, performance management, attendance management, and corrective actions.
• Familiarity with manufacturing systems and production reporting tools.
• Ability to thrive in a hands-on, floor-focused leadership role. Injection molding expertise
• Tier 1 automotive manufacturing experience
• Experience supporting GM, Ford, Stellantis, Chrysler, or other automotive customers
• Continuous Improvement / Lean Manufacturing experience
• Kaizen event participation
• Six Sigma exposure
• Mechanical aptitude (able to understand machine issues and production disruptions)
• Experience in a smaller manufacturing facility with lean leadership structure
• Experience hiring production employees
