PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Lead the development of innovative solutions to complex engineering and manufacturing production challenges by leveraging expertise from both internal and external sources. Implement robust manufacturing process controls through comprehensive process analysis and application of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials knowledge.
Prepare and maintain documentation for new and existing manufacturing processes and procedures. Develop clear and effective work instructions, procedures, and standardized work using established engineering methodologies.
Ensure product and process quality by designing error-proof mechanisms, fixtures, and tools; establishing and documenting quality standards; and validating manufacturing processes to meet organizational requirements.
Design and utilize 3D-printed tooling and fixturing to streamline manufacturing operations and enhance error-proofing of production processes.
Drive process improvement initiatives by applying root cause analysis, corrective actions, continuous improvement, and lean manufacturing techniques to optimize production efficiency.
Serve as a problem solver for both internal and external teams, facilitating issue resolution and implementing strategies to reduce the cost of poor quality, including warranty claims, scrap, and rework.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to recommend and implement process and functional improvements. Monitor, assist with, and execute corrective action activities as needed.
Determine root cause of failure to implement changes in design, tolerances, or processing methods.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES Good critical thinking skills with the ability to develop alternative solutions.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from internal personnel, sales representatives, and customers.
Technical knowledge of mechanical assemblies.
Ability to navigate within an ERP system (SAP)
Software applications proficiency (MS Office, SAP, other technical applications)
Ability to collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams.
Ability to write work instructions & related documentation.
A basic working knowledge of controlsA positive attitude & hands-on mentality
Education
Working towards a Mechanical / technical engineering bachelor’s degree (B.
A.) from four-year College or university.
Hands on mechanical assembly/machining experience a plus.
Experience with CAD/CAM and/or 3D printing technology a plus.
