general statement of duties:
the harter secrest & emery business development and marketing department plays a central role in advancing the firm's growth, visibility, and client relationships. Working in close collaboration with firm leadership and attorneys, the team develops and executes strategies that support client acquisition, retention, and expansion while strengthening the firm's brand in key markets.
the business development and marketing intern will report directly to the chief business development officer while collaborating with team members to support key marketing and business department functions and initiative.
job responsibilities:
- sponsorship logistics: communicating with external organizations, adding sponsorship details to the appropriate calendars, including the team's project management platform, submitting guest names and coordinating the delivery/shipment of marketing materials.
- merchandise fulfillment and tracking: creating and maintaining a merchandise fulfillment tracking spreadsheet, ordering new merchandise, organizing inventory, and distributing merchandise to internal and external audiences
- marketing content: draft and post media coverage and speaking engagement summaries to the website and to the firm's social media content sharing platform, update attorney bios, and other tasks assigned
- event, webinar & conference logistics: assist with onsite event logistics, organize marketing and booth materials for delivery/shipment to venue, prepare report on registrant/attendee background
- team project management: update details for assigned projects to the team's project management platform
- marketing research: conduct research and prepare appropriate reports on prospective clients, webinar/event attendees, industry and business trends, etc., as assigned
- collaborate with bd/marketing team: attend and actively contribute to team meetings about upcoming and pending projects
- enrolled in a bachelor's degree curriculum in marketing or a closely related; completed first year of education program
- prior office experience a plus
- demonstrated interest in marketing and business development initiatives
- strong written and verbal communication skills
- experience with microsoft excel and basic proficiency in other microsoft office applications
- proven ability to stay organized, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines
- willingness to learn new tools, processes and marketing platforms
- normal office environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, temperature and other variable conditions
- salary range: $19 - $23 per hour
- 20 hours per week
