Position Overview

National Board Directors serve as voting members of the Board of Directors, providing strategic, fiduciary, and governance oversight. Board members work closely with student leaders to support long‑term sustainability, compliance, and impact.

This role is ideal for early‑career professionals or graduate students interested in nonprofit leadership, higher education, and service‑oriented governance.

Key Responsibilities
  • • Serve as a voting Board member in accordance with organizational bylaws
  • • Participate in annual and periodic Board meetings
  • • Vote on organizational resolutions, officer elections, and bylaw amendments
  • • Provide mentorship and professional guidance to the student executive team
Qualifications
  • • Early‑career professional or graduate student (approx. 1–10 years post‑undergrad)
  • • Experience or interest in one or more of the following:
    • – Nonprofit administration or governance
    • – Higher‑education advising or student programming
    • – Service‑based leadership or civic organizations
  • • Passion for educational equity and mentorship
  • • Ability to collaborate with a student‑led leadership team
  • • 1–2 year Board term (renewable)
  • • Annual Board meeting plus periodic meetings
  • • Optional committee participation
