Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cath Lab position requiring NY licensure, cardiac cath lab expertise, and on-call availability.
Responsibilities- Work in a hospital-based Cath Lab setting
- Patient population includes adults requiring cardiac cath procedures and interventional radiology procedures
- Shift is Monday through Friday, 7:00 am to 5:30 pm, 4x10 hour shifts
- On-call required with an average of 8-10 shifts per month including 1 full weekend
- Must have experience in both Cath Lab and IR Lab
- No local candidates accepted within 75 miles
- Scrubs are provided
- Uses Epic EMR, Epic experience preferred
- Primary responsibilities include assisting with cardiac and interventional radiology procedures for both diagnostic and interventional cases
- Administer procedural sedation and monitor patients as required
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- RTO restrictions require time off requests to be limited to approximately one week
- Call off policy allows up to three called-off shifts per 13-week assignment; on-call placement in lieu of called off counts toward this limit
- Active NY RN license required, pending license not accepted
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a Cath Lab is required; IR-only experience not accepted
- Proficiency with interventional cardiac cath lab skills including stent placement, diagnostic catheterizations, PCI, pacemaker/defibrillator lead procedures, and IABP/Impella use
- Experience with a variety of IR procedures such as liver biopsy, paracentesis, venous access, angiography, embolization, and dialysis graft work
- Epic EMR experience preferred
