This is a 13-week contract position.
ScheduleRotating shift schedule, including days, evenings, nights, weekends, holidays, on-call, and callback as per unit needs.
Job DescriptionWe are seeking a compassionate and skilled Level 1 RN Psych to join our team. The ideal candidate will conduct intake assessments, provide high-quality nursing care, and collaborate with psychiatrists and behavioral health staff to develop treatment plans for patients.
Responsibilities- Conduct intake assessments through interviews with patients and relatives to gather case history.
- Plan and provide nursing care for patients, making nursing diagnoses of their medical and emotional status.
- Consult with psychiatrists and other behavioral health staff to design appropriate treatment plans.
- Administer psychotropic drugs and other medications, noting patient reactions.
- Arrange further medical attention when necessary.
- Assist clients in understanding their emotional disturbances and the need for treatment.
- Maintain a safe and secure environment for staff and patients.
- Monitor vital signs and administer pain treatments as required.
- Document all patient information accurately on medical charts in line with physician orders.
- Ensure patient confidentiality and maintain accurate records of treatments and results.
- Perform administrative tasks such as filing, answering phones, typing, and completing progress notes.
- Provide courteous, high-quality service to patients and the public.
- Must have a valid RN License (NY license only).
- BLS Certification (AHA) required.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in psychiatric nursing is required.
