Registered Nurse

Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse will provide skilled nursing care in a Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU), managing patients with conditions such as sepsis, ARDS, renal failure, and heart failure. The role involves patient assessments, medication administration, treatment planning, and collaboration with the healthcare team. The nurse will work 3x12 night shifts and every other weekend.

Responsibilities:

- Provide skilled nursing care to MICU patients.
- Perform patient assessments and monitor vital signs.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Manage patients with conditions such as sepsis, ARDS, renal failure, and heart failure.
- Care for patients requiring CRRT, EKOS, IABP, ECMO, and Impella support.
- Document patient care and related duties in the electronic medical record.

Required Skills &

Certifications:

- Active Registered Nurse license in New York State (in hand).
- EPIC charting experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of hospital, home health, or hospice care experience.
- Clinical Assessment, Medication Administration, and Treatment Planning skills.
- Interdisciplinary Team Collaboration skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related field.

Preferred Skills &

Certifications:

- Experience with sepsis, ARDS, renal failure, heart failure, pre-VAD workups, alcohol withdrawal, overdose, multi-organ failure, post-cardiac arrest/targeted temperature management, respiratory failure/shock.

- Experience with CRRT, EKOS, IABP, ECMO, and Impella.

Special Considerations:

- Must reside over 75 miles from the facility.
- Nurse-patient ratio is typically 1:2, with occasional 1:1 based on acuity.

Scheduling:
- 3x12 night shifts, .
- Every other weekend required.
