Travel RN - Emergency Dept

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Emergency Department position at a Magnet‑recognized acute care teaching hospital in Rochester, NY, requiring active NY RN licensure and Epic experience.

• Active NY Single State RN license required (NY is not a Compact state); pending licenses are not accepted
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• IV therapy skills required, including blood product administration, central line care, phlebotomy, starting and maintaining IVs, and IV vasopressors
• Respiratory support experience required: CPAP/BiPAP and ventilator management
• Experience with CVA/stroke, neuro‑trauma, spinal cord injury, and TBI required
• Cardiac monitoring skills required, including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Emergency care experience required, including adult/pediatric ED, gunshot wounds, and ortho trauma
• Experience with isolation precautions, triage, and pediatric spinal cord injury required
• 2 professional supervisory references from within the past 2 years required for consideration
• Full 7‑year work history with all gaps explained required for consideration
• Candidates residing within 75 miles of the facility are not eligible for this position

• Adult and geriatric emergency department setting with all emergency type diagnoses, including a dedicated pediatric ED, crisis intervention unit, and trauma suite
• State‑of‑the‑art ED with centralized layout, advanced diagnostic technology, and trauma capabilities
• Day/night rotation with 12‑hour shifts (7:00–19:00 days, 19:00–7:00 nights), 3 shifts per week
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Epic EMR required
• Every other weekend required
• Must be available to work every other holiday as needed
• Special equipment includes Bair hugger, rapid infuser, and safe patient handling equipment
• Floating within skillset required
• Hospital is Magnet‑recognized and certified as an Advanced Thrombectomy Capable Stroke Center, affiliated with Cleveland Clinic and Roswell Park
• 528‑bed acute care teaching hospital in Rochester, NY
• Scrub color: any combination of navy blue and white
