Shift: UR – Day (United States of America)
Schedule:
Monday – Friday, primarily days.
USD 98,010.00 – per year.
Responsibilities- Work autonomously in a URMC hospital‑based clinic caring for routine and urgent ostomy patients, including peristomal wounds, dermatological conditions, fistulae and tube site irritations.
- Evaluate and diagnose new and established patients, triage postoperative complications related to GI/GU systems.
- Perform procedures such as skin biopsies, tissue cultures, cauterization of benign growths.
- Participate in community support group involvement and educate patients and providers across upstate NY and southern tier region.
- Deliberate long‑term expertise development as a consultant in this field (preferred).
- Demonstrate strong clinical and communication skills, flexibility in hours and clinic location, positive attitude, and team‑based work ethic.
- For Nurse Practitioners:
Master’s degree as a Nurse Practitioner, active New York State Registered Nurse license and active New York State Nurse Practitioner licensure in good standing, current national certification as a Nurse Practitioner. - For Physician Assistants:
Completion of an ARC-PA approved Physician Assistant program, active New York State Physician Assistant licensure in good standing, current national certification as a Physician Assistant by NCCPA. - One year of clinical experience preferred.
- FNP certification preferred for Nurse Practitioners;
Wound Ostomy Certification (WOCNCB) or equivalent for Physician Assistants must be obtained within 12 months of hire. - Demonstrate clinical competence, superior verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal effectiveness, customer‑relation skills, computer competence, and a desire to learn.
- Participate in education of learners (students and new employees) through clinical experiences, knowledge sharing, and skill training.
