Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical Float Pool (Part-Time)
Position Summary:
Provides professional nursing services for patients and their families and/or for the nursing department. Collaborates with other health care providers and health care team members to achieve expected patient outcomes and improve the care environment. Nurses use the nursing process and evidence based practice to coordinate and provide direct care and services that support care.
Responsibilities:
- Float day‑to‑day to inpatient medical/surgical units, observation units, and occasionally the ED.
- Under the direction of the Nurse Manager, provide competent patient care based on established standards and the nursing process.
- Assume expanded unit roles as available and assigned by Nurse Manager as a charge nurse or preceptor.
- Support peers in the delivery of patient care, use appropriate communication methods, and practice care that reflects patient condition and priorities.
- Assist in team problem solving, identify opportunities for self‑growth, and contribute to the development of other learners.
- Contribute to a safe unit environment and operations.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 6 months RN experience in an acute care setting.
- BS in Nursing preferred.
- Licensed by New York State to practice as a Registered Nurse.
- Current CPR certification (American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare providers).
Pay Range: $38.76 – $50.33 per hour. Individual compensation within this range will be determined by market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise, and internal equity considerations.
Location: Rochester, NY.
Employment Type: Part‑Time (20 hours/week).
