Rotating day and night coverage including weekends; pick either 4x10-hour shifts or 5x8-hour shifts at time of offer (exact start/end times vary by unit)
Hours per Week: 40
- Deliver high-quality pre-, intra- and post-procedural nursing care for interventional radiology patients
- Perform and assist with vascular access procedures including central line and port placement and maintenance
- Provide procedural sedation, monitor circulation and lead recovery-phase care with vigilance and compassion
- Support a broad scope of procedures from angiograms to nephrostomy and gastrostomy tube management
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team of physicians, radiology technologists and nurses to respond to emergencies and elective cases
- Document patient care accurately and promptly in Cerner and McKesson EMRs
- Float to the Cardiac Cath Lab as needed and integrate seamlessly with that team
- Current New York Registered Nurse (RN) license required
- ACLS and BLS certifications required and up to date
- COVID-19 vaccinations mandatory with proofs uploaded to profile
- Previous Interventional Radiology (IR) experience required
- Comfort caring for adolescent through geriatric patient populations
- Experience with procedural sedation, circulation monitoring and recovery-phase care
- Ability to float to the Cardiac Cath Lab is required
- Previous travel nurse experience is highly preferred
- One supervisory signed reference from within the past two years is required
- Nursing diploma, ADN or BSN with eligibility for RN licensure in New York
- Active New York RN license required
- Strong clinical skills in IR procedures including angiograms, peripheral revascularization and biopsy care
- Vascular access skills: central lines, ports, hemodialysis catheters and PICC/port maintenance
- Procedural sedation and post-procedure recovery best practices
- Familiarity with EMR systems Cerner and Mc Kesson
- Ability to work in a Trauma Level I environment and respond to acute emergencies
- Excellent communication, teamwork and patient education skills
