As a Registered Nurse (RN), you are at the heart of patient care, delivering high-quality, patient-centered clinical care in the Operating Room at Rochester General Hospital. You collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and surgical technologists, ensuring safety, precision, and compassion throughout the surgical journey. The role supports a wide range of adult and pediatric procedures across specialties such as General Surgery, Robotics, Vascular, Orthopedics, Cardiothoracic, and Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery.

Clinical Ladder Level II:
Minimum 6 months RN experience; AAS in Nursing; completion of Clinical Ladder requirements within 12 months, including 3 activities per pillar (Leadership, Quality, Organizational Contribution), 9 CEUs, and 6 flex items.

Clinical Ladder Level III:
Minimum 1 year RN experience; AAS in Nursing; demonstrated clinical and leadership skills; preceptor and/or charge experience; completion of 4 activities per pillar, 12 CEUs, and 15 flex items.

Clinical Ladder Level IV:
Minimum 1 year experience in the specialty hired into; BS in Nursing required; expanded leadership role (charge, preceptor, mentor); completion of Clinical Ladder requirements within 12 months, including 5 activities per pillar, 15 CEUs, and 20 flex items.

• Provides high-quality, patient-centered clinical care.
• Performs initial and ongoing assessment of patients, utilizing appropriate data (physical, psychological, educational, and risk-screen data appropriate for the patient's age).
• Communicates and documents assessments with the interdisciplinary team, utilizing all available resources to meet patient and family needs.
• Develops and documents individualized care plans, treatments, and services aligned with patient strengths, limitations, and goals.
• Complies with organizational policies, procedures, and protocols, including safety, medication administration, and documentation.
• Revises care plans based on ongoing evaluations and updates documentation accordingly.
• Completes a minimum of 5 nationally approved contact hours (CNE or CEU) per year.
• Completes mandatory in-services and health screens in a timely manner.
• Maintains Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Completes at least one clinical research utilization form for submission to Nursing Research Department.

• Diploma or Associate’s Degree in Nursing (AAS) or higher.
• Registered Nurse license in New York State.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
• At least 6 months RN experience.

Exerts up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and up to 25 pounds of force frequently while moving objects; requires frequent walking, standing, or squatting. Any physical requirements reported by prospective employees or medical providers will be considered for accommodations.

$39.75 - $52.99 per hour. The listed base pay range reflects current potential base pay for a successful full-time applicant. Pay may be modified in the future and may include additional components.
