Position: Plastic Surgery / Kessler Burn Center – Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant
Location: City of Rochester

Advanced Practice Provider – Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant (Plastic Surgery)

Schedule:

Full time, 40 hours per week, UR – Day shift. No nights, weekends or holidays.

Compensation: US $98,010.00 – $ annually.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care to inpatient and ambulatory plastic surgery and burn patients of all ages.
  • Monitor and manage admitted burn patients, participate in wound and burn care, assist with surgical procedures, and facilitate admission and discharge.
  • Evaluate and manage acute burns, hand and facial fractures, skin lesions, cancer and trauma reconstruction, cosmetic procedures, and other plastic reconstructive diagnoses in an outpatient setting.
  • Perform pre‑ and post‑operative management, coordinate home services, triage, and post‑operative care.
  • Bill for clinic, hospital, and procedural services as an autonomous provider.
  • Participate in the education and training of learners (residents, students, new employees) through clinical learning experiences, knowledge sharing, and skill training.
  • Engage in clinical research opportunities; financial support for CME accredited conferences is available.
Qualifications
  • NP: Master’s degree as a Nurse Practitioner, active New York State Registered Nurse license in good standing, active New York State Nurse Practitioner licensure in good standing, and current national certification as a Nurse Practitioner.
  • PA: Completion of an ARC‑PA approved Physician Assistant program, active New York State Physician Assistant licensure in good standing, and current national certification as a Physician Assistant by NCCPA.
  • Demonstrated clinical competence and superior verbal and written communication skills.
  • Interpersonal effectiveness, customer relation skills, computer competence, and a continuous desire to learn.
