Travel TELE RN - Telemetry Registered Nurse

We currently have a client in Rochester, NY looking for a Travel RNFA – First Assist RN Registered Nurse.

Focus Staff is seeking a traveling First Assist RN to assist and work alongside a surgeon during preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative care. This is a contract assignment for 13 weeks (temporary). Shift: 3 x 12 rotating.

• Assist the surgeon in general and specialized surgeries.
• Prepare patients for surgery.
• Provide patient care and support.
• Administer medications.
• Practice surgical procedures such as controlling bleeding, suturing incisions, draping, providing exposure, and handling tissue.
• Prepare all necessary supplies.
• Position and prepare the patient on the operating table.
• Monitor the patient’s vital signs and heart rate.
• Educate the patient and family on the operation and after‑care.
• Perform postoperative assessments and monitoring.
• Perform CPR or emergency measures if required.

• AHA current Basic Life Support certification for health‑care providers.
• BSN from an accredited nursing program and proper licensure.
• Excellent communication skills with staff, physicians, patients, and families.
• Certification as a First Assist RN and certification in perioperative nursing.
• Operating room experience required.
• At least 2 years of experience in surgical nursing.
