Nurse Practitioner - Breast Center

SUMMARY

As a Nurse Practitioner, your strong interpersonal and communication skills, clinical judgment, and commitment to patient-centered care will support the delivery of high-quality, compassionate breast care in an outpatient setting.

STATUS: Full-time

LOCATION: Rochester General Hospital

DEPARTMENT: Surgery

SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday;
Days

• Knowledge of the medical management of adult patients.

• Passion for promoting health and wellness in patients with breast cancer and those at increased risk for developing breast cancer.

• Interest in providing patient-centered care through a collaborative, multidisciplinary team approach.

• Excellent communication, patient education, and interpersonal skills.

• Compassionate, detail-oriented, and committed to delivering high-quality care.

• Patient Care. Perform comprehensive pre- and post-operative evaluations, provide patient education, and manage acute post-operative care.

• Risk Assessment. Evaluate patients for hereditary breast cancer risk, review genetic histories, and determine the need for additional genetic evaluation or testing.

• Patient Education. Counsel patients on breast cancer risk reduction strategies and coordinate referrals to appropriate specialists and support services as needed.

• Procedures. Perform in-office procedures. Opportunities to participate in surgical care may be available based on departmental needs.
